So, it’s been a busy couple of weeks over here in the East Bay and while in between the launch of my new startup, the birth of my friends little baby girl and my own trials and tribulations with fertility, I’ve still managed to do a ton of mini projects around the house. I have not, however, had a lot of time to write about them. But enough already with the excuses, right!
Here’s a little overview of what’s been happening at Casa Downer, a little teaser of what’s to come in the next 2 weeks!
Flower Chandelier: On February 9th and 10:17am we welcomed Ellie Grey to the family when my BFF gave birth to the little ray of sunshine. A week later, I gave birth to the chandelier I’d been working on for little Ellie’s room. It was a labor of love, but it turned out great. It’s the grand-daddy of this little guy I created in December. Full recap and tutorial to come next week!
$1.25 Curtain Rod: Using a dowel I picked up at Home Depot and the existing mounting brackets, all I needed for this affordable solution was a little elbow grease and some love. The curtains required a slight hack as well, but we’ll get to that later.
Ikea Bench Hack: It only took 4 months, but I finally added feet to my Ikea hack bench! I have lots more planned for this baby, but am loving that it sits off the ground. More to come…
Yellow Bedframe: At long last, I’m dreaming in yellow. Well, almost dreaming in yellow. I ran out of paint before the final coat, so this redux will conclude this weekend, but my yellow bed frame is almost HERE!! There’s an additional surprise with this update, so stay tuned for the full recap.
De-warping Wood: You know that awesome dining room table build from November, well I had a little issue with warping on one of the boards. Stupid board! But, I’m working on a plan to fix it. Any suggestions?
So, what’s the coming and goings around your house? Any big projects planned for the coming weekend?
