I’m pretty happy with our living room these days. There are future plans to get a new couch that better fits the space. The sectional hits all the design marks, but it was purchased for a home that had a much large footprint and it’s simply too big for this tiny room.
The only sore spot has been this wall that the TV sits on. Oh, this wall. We had originally planned to do a rustic wood feature wall here, but after a year of sitting on it, we decided that maybe we weren’t too hyped about it. I have no problems adding trendy features, but since this isn’t our forever home, I knew that whatever we chose needed to be easily changed and a wood wall could pose some problems for future home owners.
I have never been a wallpaper girl. For my generation, wallpaper has a pretty bad wrap, but as I’ve been designing the restaurant I’ve started to see a lot of really cool, modern, eye-catching wallpaper that could be used as a feature wall. So, I approached Jeremiah with my idea. He cringed at a few of my initial choices, but he slowly started to turn around to the idea.
We were both crushing hard on the pineapple wallpaper, but being that we both are in the restaurant business, we decided that we’d rather this paper show up in an upcoming restaurant and we don’t need matching wallpaper in our restaurant and home. Jeremiah likes the white and I like the black.
We both jumped at the molecules design, but decided it was a little too hipster (is that a thing…too hipster?).
But, these are the three we’ve landed on for the living room.
Some notes on the space. The wall to the left of the TV (centered in the photo above) will be gone. The kitchen hides behind that wall and is soon to be renovated with dark lowers and white uppers. The TV will be mounted to the wall. Thoughts? We both have our favorites, but we’d love some opinions.
