It’s been a long couple of months, but I’m happy to announce that we finally gave birth to one of our long-awaited projects. Nope, my brother and still have not opened our restaurant, but we’ve made some great headway and are looking at a late winter/early spring grand opening.
Instead, though, my husband’s new American whiskey bar concept, Mash, opened to the public on Thursday! Yippee! Mash is the bar component of Mercantile & Mash – Mercantile being Charleston’s first food hall/emporium. It’s been a whirlwind, filled with late nights and all the fits and starts that come with opening a bar/restaurant in Charleston, SC. If you’re ever in our fair city, please check it out!

We are knee deep in weddings this fall/winter. I recently left the girls alone with dad for the first time to attend a bachelorette party in Napa. It was much easier than I thought it was going to be and I’m happy to have returned recharged and missing my man and little ladies. During my West Coast stint, I was able to visit my two best friends, and added another tattoo – my 14th – when I finally convinced my two best friends to get “matching” – their firsts – tattoos.
