Happy Friday ya’ll! At this time last week we were in Atlanta playing in parks and visiting cousins due to a statewide evacuation due to Hurricane Matthew. Having grown up in the southwest, hurricanes, floods, heck the wrath of mother nature was never an issue. Living in the south these days has been full of surprises. We are back in Charleston and our home survived relatively unscathed. I’ll be updating a bit more on that next week.
In the midst of all the hurricane and evacuation craziness, Jeremiah and I celebrated our 2nd anniversary with a first-date scavenger hunt and a new pair of jeans. Happy cotton anniversary to us!
Bob Dylan won the Nobel Prize for literature yesterday and I spent the entire day trying to convince myself that I was indifferent to it. The truth is that it irks me a bit. Being a literary scholar and a lover of books, it felt like a small blow. This article mirrors my feelings.
6 – 8″ copper pulls for around $6 a pop. That’s just crazy! Snap them up. We recently used them on our floating credenza and they are very pretty.
If you need help putting your mind at ease about your climbing toddlers, this article from the REI blog might help #climballthethings
Another perfect gift for moms-to-be.
This weekend I’m hosting a co-ed baby shower for some dear friends of ours who are welcoming a baby — their first — next month. I’m typically the practical type when it comes to baby shower gift giving. Diapers, wipes, baby wash, nipple cream? A basket of the essentials is usually what I gift, since that’s the thing I feel is sorely overlooked. But, I’m newly obsessed with these paper doll portraits from artist and Etsy seller, Jordan Grace Owens. I spotted them on a post from Chris Loves Julia and I’m obsessed. They would make the perfect new baby gift and I want to buy them for everyone!
Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone suffering from Hurricane Matthew.
